Rothesay Mercantile started with a simple idea: to create the kind of home shop I was always looking for myself.
After moving to Rothesay, I found myself wishing there was somewhere local to discover beautiful, thoughtfully chosen pieces for the home — the kind of things that add warmth, character and a little personality without making a space feel overly styled or precious.
I've always loved interiors and the way a home comes together over time. Not from buying everything at once, but from layering pieces you love with things you already own — something found on a trip, a favourite piece of art, a pillow you couldn't leave behind, or a small detail that just makes a room feel right.
That idea became Rothesay Mercantile.
Based here in Rothesay, New Brunswick, the shop is a carefully curated collection of home accents, gifts and seasonal pieces chosen because they're things I would genuinely bring into my own home. You'll find timeless pieces alongside a little charm, texture and personality — things meant to be lived with, mixed in and made your own.
We're starting small and intentionally. Collections will evolve, new finds will come and go, and there will always be room for something unexpected. Hi, I'm Colleen.
Rothesay Mercantile started quite simply from my love of home.
I've always loved the little details that make a space feel personal — the pieces you find one at a time, bring home because you genuinely love them, and somehow end up keeping for years.
After moving to Rothesay, I found myself wishing there were more places nearby to discover those kinds of pieces. Eventually, that thought became: maybe I should create one.
Rothesay Mercantile is my little corner of the Kennebecasis Valley, filled with things I'd happily bring into my own home. I choose every collection with that same idea in mind — pieces with warmth, character and a sense that they could have been collected over time.
I'm starting small, intentionally. Each collection is carefully edited rather than endlessly stocked, with pieces for everyday living, gifting and the seasons that make home feel especially special.
